Vladimir Putin lands in Delhi. Narendra Modi greets him with full honours. Last week, the 23rd India-Russia Annual Summit unfolded not as a relic of Cold War nostalgia, but as a blueprint for the post…
Court Delhi, counter Russian and Chinese agendas, forge bonds of mutual gain. America needs India to cage the dragon.
Punch line at the end is giving away that “EU must give things to India to help US war on China”. It’s all nice to trade more with India (btw the largest oil products provider of Ukraine), but EU would have more leverage with Russia if it purchased its oil directly from it instead of through Indian intermediaries.
Russia makes money from India. India marks up more from Europe. Why would Russia sell surplus to India below EU’s price cap? Not that better relations with Russia isn’t a massive benefit to EU, but the performative reimporting from India is next level dumb bs.

that makes no sense, the eu did get lots of oil from russia and now it doesn’t because of the invasion of ukraine?
sanctions on russia are leverage, if russia wants to come back and make money again it is free to simply leave ukraine, easy

because sanctions have significantly reduced the amount of customers available to buy russias oil … and india knows this
