I think the real trigger for this is criticism of Israel. They lost control of the narrative and it spooked them like nothing else.

True true. The groups most critical of Israel are all the bogeymen of the right: Muslims, Black and Brown people, youth, etc.
That said, I’m sure there’s a contingent of terf MP’s that will make sure trans kids are deprived of all resources online.
That is the main reason why Australia had to “protect the children” the kids were getting ideas. Thankfully now the only social media they can access is 4chan, so there’s no fear about them getting the wrong ideas on things now.
