Lindsey Halligan has left the Department of Justice after a federal judge threatened disciplinary actions against the controversial U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia, Attorney General Pam Bondi announced Jan. 20.
Halligan, a former personal lawyer to President Donald Trump, was the prosecutor who brought charges against Former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James last year.
Those cases were dismissed in November 2025 after a U.S. district judge ruled Halligan was not lawfully chosen to head the office for the Eastern District of Virginia. The Department of Justice has appealed the dismissals.
How do her actions not meet standards for disbarring someone?
I 100% agree, they seem to be slow about that stuff.
Fuckin’ Rudy only got disbarred in NY after years. ABA got rustled out of Senate confirmations afterwards. Uh, coincidentally.
If you think of the bar association as like a lawyer union, then it makes more sense. I fear they are too slow to disbar because they are scared of policing themselves too much.
It’s more like a guild than a union. Gamer brain rot has ruined the term but the distinction matters.
Everything she oversaw at the DOJ should be vacated with prejudice, and she should be disbarred. It’s not enough to just let her walk away.
100% Agree. Furthermore, as she was clearly aware that what she was doing was illegal, she should be charged with fraud, and probably several other things. FAFO
She’ll be back as a Special Government Employee running some other agency that she’s incredibly unqualified for.
Hah. Sucks to suck.
Sorry about the source, it’s better than all of the others right now.
Good, hope the door hits you on the way out.
Finally
Na na na na . . .
