Thanks Camden for introducing this un to me last night, top class stuff. You called it something like “wonderful denial”. Evidently the appeal of “it’s not like I like you or anything, b-baka!” is universal across time and space.

          Evidently it didn’t make a strong impression on me back when I saw that movie a decade or so ago, because the first time I remember hearing “I’m Not In Love” was last night when someone who grew up in the 70s showed it to me as an example of a nostalgic song. I’d just played “Lady In Red” for them and they told me they hated that song. I said that “I’m Not In Love” reminded me of a Soviet Georgian band I like.
