    In melbs we have a law for people who move next to pre existing loud areas / live venues, etc. it primarily rules “your fault for buying there, so shut up, dickhead”

      Does it work the other way around, too? As in, “You bought in a quiet area, so shut up, dickhead”.

        That’s covered under standard peace laws. The caveats came about because developers were putting apartment blocks next to live music venues, then the occupants were cracking the shits at live music and filing for disturbing quiet enjoyment. A couple of places were badly impacted, then we collectively realised this was fucking stupid and now the onus is on the developer / newly arrived resident, not the pre-existing function

          I think that’s been a bit of an issue out my way with a couple of places that like to rake in cash by hosting weddings.
