It disgusts and angers me that people in Palestine are fearing for their lives and aren’t free to move throughout their country or even feel safe in their own homes. Yet ultra privileged pieces of shit who probably never had to live with anywhere near such fear in their lives not only justify their suffering. They argue against those fighting to end it. And they argue for respectability politics when they are being inherently disrespectful to the people suffering right now.

Fuck Zionists!

I’ve never seen anyone on Feddit write something like that.
Aside from that, it’s really simple:

    • Feddit is hosted in Germany
    • Germany has laws that prohibit saying things like “Death to Israel” or “From the river to the sea”.
    • If someone posts something like that on Feddit, the admins have to remove it, because they are responsible for what’s on their servers.
    • If they don’t, they risk legal action, including takedown of the instance, seizing the servers, and prison.

If you don’t like seeing an instance with these limitations on Lemmy, there’s an easy solution: Block it!

        “We are only following orders.”

You’re drawing a parallel here, between deleting a comment on a server and what the Nazis did during the Holocaust.
        Fuck this, I’m out.

I’m drawing a parallel between participating in a genocide and defending genocide (the existence of “Israel” is genocidal). “Just following orders” is not an excuse for doing things you know are wrong. It would be easy for the admins to host the server outside of Germany, or not do anything until they are asked to by the German state. Instead, they chose to preemptively comply and remove anti-zionist posts as well as deliberately make their community a space for zionists.
