New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has appointed the Zionist leader of a liberal Jewish community group to lead his Office to Combat Antisemitism.

Phylisa Wisdom, who will be leading City Hall’s fight against Jew-hatred, has led the New York Jewish Agenda since 2023.

The group opposed the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, an anti-Israel initiative Mamdani has previously expressed his support for.

The group been instrumental in calling out antisemitism over the years. Last month, after a protest outside a synagogue saw activists chant “we support Hamas”, NYJA condemned it as “unambiguous and unacceptable antisemitism”.

Yeah but he’ll make the lives of New Yorkers better because he says he doesn’t like landlords, which is cool and based actually smuglord

If somebody is seeking elected office in America that’s all you need to know not to trust them.

Ecactly this. I commented something similar the last post about Zohron doing something uncool.

He may deliver some good things for people in NYC and thats great, but he’s not communist. He’s not going to follow our principles. There was never a reason to trust him in the first place

There’s some local chapters that are starting to seek municipal seats according to some members here.

The reality in the US is the proletariat won’t take a political party seriously unless they seriously engage in electoral politics. The PSL presidential shenanigans might win them some more college radicals but the masses will always see a more radical green party. If they started holding seats like SAlt did then they might get some real traction.
