      Yes they all involve less consumption, but the ones that actually are serious have that reduced consumption as a by-product of regulating industries that are the biggest offenders. You can’t “personal responsibility” your way out of climate change. That doesn’t mean people shouldn’t take responsibility, but they should realize that personal responsibility alone cannot solve this.

      Well first of all there are some people blocking movement completely.

      Then the transition to renewables would cover easily 100% of our current energy. Of course base load is a problem so nuclear in general, then grid-scale storage solutions such as pumped hydro in places allowable, Li-ion batteries, molten salt, etc. Then our grids need improvement because Republicans have constantly voted down attempts to modernize to allow this level of electricity (because they are in the pockets of fossil fuel and know that we can’t move away from it without modernizing the grid).

      Anyway, it’s very very possible, it’s just being blocked by a relatively small group of people. These people are the problem.
