Kansas needs another John Brown
Is there any hope for Kansas? I remember reading about them suffering brain drains and economic issues 10 years ago and seeing headlines like this tells me not much has changed.
My understanding is the Brownback tax cuts and education cuts were rolled back a while ago and those were what caused a lot of those problems. The current problem is the people who helped implement those cuts in the first place are now in charge of congress with enough of a majority to override a veto (which is what happened with this bill). Unless there’s a really big push to get rid of that super majority and the governor doesn’t also end up being someone who will pass this stuff, probably not much hope no.

I predict blowback. You can’t back people into a corner like this. There’s nowhere out for a trans woman. is she supposed to go do time in a men’s prison? Surely one might as well shoot it out even over a minor infraction at that point.While Adventurist terrorism is bad, no one should do it… I do wonder how long until life gets so unlivable for a minority like teams folks, that you start getting instances of Stochastic terrorism.
It’s not like trans folks are concentrated enough right now for coherent resistance movements, re: Stonewall are feasible. Though things are getting bad enough for queer folks in red states, that a lot of them are fleeing to bluer States, so maybe that concentration is already happening.
