So why don’t more people use SIM PINs?

Because we have never heard of them?

Entering one PIN every time your phone reboots is one thing

How often do people reboot their phones these days?

Mine is set to reboot after not being used for 6 hours for security in the event it is lost or stolen.

What android phone are you using? I can go fine for nearly a month. Would’ve been longer but need to reboot to apply security updates.

I have a Realme phone and have similar number of apps and also multi task heavily. Fortunately, I have 12GB of RAM so reboot is not necessary.

RAM isn’t what matters, it’s how individual apps are designed - cleaning ram is automatic via OOM, or you can trigger it.

I can run an OOM cycle and it doesn’t make the phone run longer, just better for now as the ram consumers get unloaded.

I have some apps that cause issues.
