Its… like 2, but I guess analagously a ‘pants-on-head’ situation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DD_tank The Sherman DD (Duplex Drive / “Donald Duck”): Raised vents. Pants/Skirt on Head. Mechanical Flippers. The bottom is already water tight, what you do have to is worry about water getting into the vents and of course making it into a psuedo ship hull shape. Definitely not a good idea in anything other than pretty much placid water.
