The device in the picture is a ROG Ally, not a Steam Deck. Without trackpads it’s a lot less useful, in my opinion.
All depends on what type of games you play. I never use them.
They’re also important for desktop mode… but it’s still painful without a keyboard, and at that point, just get a mouse.
