Hoo boy, the article wasn’t kidding. The local news story does misgender her repeatedly. (WWBT is owned by Gray Media before anyone reflexively jumps to Sinclair.)
EDIT: Given the language of the article and given that The Progress-Index had basically the same wording, I’m going to conclude WWBT got effectively a press release from the police for publication and had minimal if any involvement in investigating this story. Fairly typical of local news stories about crimes.

This will probably never get properly investigated, will never lead to societal outrage, yet they cry war when someone unalives a cis white boy shouting vitriol off the highest rooftops. -_-
