do you think it tastes like banana laffy taffy?

apparently it has a pungent musky animal taste:

“The koala was probably my favorite, but that was for sentimental reasons and not taste. They were all pretty similar to be honest.” How? “Quite musky, a bit funky and a bit metallic.” Mmm, musky. “The best word would be pungent—definitely not enjoyable.”

Would he ever use koala milk again, then? “I guess if I was to use any of them again I’d try to dilute the taste with cream, maybe some vanilla. Just anything to lose that strong animal flavor.”

          honestly sounds disgusting

I was a strict vegan for 5+ years (I still mostly cook vegan and vegetarian at home), and as I’ve become more flexible in my diet, I’ve been surprised at how off-putting animal products are - particularly dairy has a disgusting animal smell / taste to them that I don’t like. Low quality / more refined dairy products actually taste better to me because they are less likely to have that animal taste, but I still don’t like it as much as vegan alternatives most of the time (like, I strongly prefer vegenaise to real sour cream, for example).

oh no, I’m so sorry :-(

I sorta wish I were allergic to bananas, I learned too much about the United Fruit company and the civil war in Guatemala, now all I can think of is the blood on my hands when I eat bananas (but bananas are too culturally ingrained in the US for my to successfully avoid them)

not wanting to support US imperialism is not a “good” reason for avoiding bananas, but being allergic would be a “good” reason

Yeah, milky, banana flavoured antibiotics. I lived on it as a kid due to never ending ear infections.

ah, I had this stuff growing up - but I never got to try the banana flavor! I think mine was always a pink-bubblegum flavor? Milky is a good way to put it - sorta chalky too?

Why didn’t you buy it and try?

My guess would be that it is based on some of the less sweet and more starch certaining banana variants.

It’s not that good. No real banana flavor, if you ask me. My 3 year old kid likes it though.

It’s not bad! I liked it at least. It has a hint of banana but not super strong like I was worried it might be

It didn’t unseat oat milk from its place in my heart, but it was good
