I encourage people to do more and consume less, but reading 1st is a great idea. Let the capitalists overproduce. Only buy things that help you live your life, not things to escape life (it’s okay to treat yourself every now and then not everything is absolute, you need rest time.)

You are more capable than the capitalist wants you to believe. Don’t let them sell you false hope.

Can confirm, the one thing to porky’s credit is rich people are some of the most dedicated savings nerds you’ll ever find…hence why income inequality is bad. Google marginal propensity to consume.

The single act of rebellion I am doing now, and hope to carry over when I’m back on my feet is not buy a lot of stuff. Did it with my clothing, I got myself a minimalist wardrobe of good quality stuff to buy once, cry once.

      c/frugality when?

If you have any thrift stores nearby, check out things secondhand especially if they’re vintage items.

If you must go online, Uniqlo does its best to marry quality and price, and its a good “general purpose” clothing store. Also, avoid repeating wearing the same shoe on consecutive days. It needs time to recover and dry out so the sole doesn’t get destroyed too early.

Yep. Ten years ago my wage was 45% of what it is now and yet I was able to save some money. My costs have tripled, if not quadrupled, over the same period.

When I made less than half my wage but had a company gas card I figure that’s when my income to expense ratio was best. I was able to upgrade my PC and shit

      All I’m saying is that a young lady, a 10-year-old girl, 9-year-old girl, 15-year-old girl, doesn’t need 37 dolls.

I don’t think that a beautiful baby girl needs — that’s 11 years old — needs to have 30 dolls. I think they can have three dolls or four dolls because what we were doing with China was just unbelievable.

All I’m saying is that a young man, a 90-year-old man, 80-year-old man, 75-year-old man, doesn’t need 37 million dollars.

I don’t think that a spry young man needs — that’s 86 years old — needs to have 30 million dollars. I think they can have three million dollars or four million dollars because what we were doing with America was just unbelievable.
