“Dan Reed says the success of the Michael Jackson biopic is proof ‘people don’t care that he was a child molester’”

Not to split hairs but I don’t remember Jackson having a corpse disposal ocean trap door or having extensive email chains with people that really make it look like he was eating human flesh

Still fucking disgusting that his estate is acting like this though

I’m watching The Expanse (sci-fi movie) and every time they say “Epstein drive” (what they call warp drives, except it’s not warp speed) I wonder if the two guys who make up the pseudonym James S. A. Corey are in the Epstein Files… or if S. A. stands for what I think it does. (Expanse/Corey fans about to blow up on me, but you gotta admit naming your warp drive after Jeffrey Epstein is cringey and edgelord as fuck!)

Amazing show but the name of the engines everyone uses has literally aged like milk. Also, the show is not that old.

I’m still not quite sure if this is a bit, but the name is not uncommon. Specifically, there have been many notable figures with that surname in the fields of physics and mathematics.

Still, it’s aged like milk. I’m currently reading Hyperion by Dan Simmons (1989) and the drives in that book are called Hawking Drives. Way cooler — though, I think there were also some allegations against Stephen Hawking.

Hitler was an artist, but it’s not what he’s remembered for. (I’ll never forget the Justified episode about the Jewish art collector who collected Hitler’s art. I won’t spoil the ending, but it was very educational and the ending was very fitting.) Now, Hitler has family living in the west. They’ve since changed their name. The name is tainted and it may always be. I’m not sure it’ll be okay for someone to be named Hitler in 500 years. But who knows. I think if a “Hitler” cured cancer, he or she wouldn’t attribute it to that name.

Yeah it’s fucked up, just because of the sheer number of scientific discoveries by Epsteins. Then this guy comes along and now the name is only associated with him and his crimes.

Also, I thought of a common one: Epstein-Barr.

I don’t like Michael Jackson and I think he was very sus. But the director of Leaving Neverland literally directed a pro-israel doc called One Day In October.

Dan Reed, the filmmaker behind the documentary “One Day in October,” documented the October 7, 2023, Hamas attack on Israel, portraying it as a planned, traumatic targeting of civilians. He focuses on personal stories of survivors, indicating a view that the attacks destroyed a peaceful ethos and fundamentally altered Israeli security perceptions.

The film has been described as a “disgusting pro-Israel propaganda piece” by some, while others have commended its commitment to documenting the horrors of the event.

Absolutely not. Michael Jackson was disgusting, but he was not part of a systematic operation involving powerful people from around the globe that I know of. I’ve heard he may have been involved with the Epstein crowd, in which case he’s still not the ringleader of it but a participant. He was probably not part of the intelligence blackmail ring portion of the operation? He was a monster, but the scale of his crimes is much smaller. Either way, they’re both dead now it’s a bit of a pointless comparison anyway.

The thing with MJ is that the stuff he did is not that far off from what celebrities are known to do without scrutiny. Like Sia made a 12 year old sleep in her bed repeatedly. It’s all horrific, but Epstein is really on another level.
