Are there advantages to being an at large DSA member? I’d still have no one to organize with locally, correct?

I’m attending a local progressives meeting on Monday. It’s at a church. There’s no DSA or PSL chapters near here and at this point I’m a person with kids to protect before I’m a communist. I need to be in touch with the people who are most likely to be organizing shit around here once ice comes to town. They’re already in the closest city and I’m trying to tap into that a bit too but the drive is like an hour and a half.

This is very fair. I have a home lab that I like to use to over engineer my home network with and run simulations on, I worked beneath a network engineer for a while as an intern, and studied for my CCNA for a while. So not a network engineer, but not completely inept either. As I said in another comment, I’m hoping to either learn enough to cobble together existing tech or learn enough to explain to myself why this is a bad idea. Either is fine.

I can’t yet prove to myself that it’s infeasible. That’s usually my goal when starting crazy projects is to learn enough to prove to myself why it can’t be done.

WiFi HaLow looks promising. We could potentially start a mesh network pretty sparse with 2 or 3 nodes and build it out from there
