This pattern repeats hundreds of times:
- Goodell receives a submission for review at RIBAF
- Goodell is added as a co-author to that submitter’s paper at a different journal
- The submitter’s RIBAF submission is accepted
What a clusterfuck. I work for a research institute and a lot of our researchers refuse to publish in Elsevier or serve on their editorial boards.
Nor should you review. Make it harder for them to find referees too.
They need to severely punish this kind of thing, because it undermines the integrity of science as an institution.
Why the main publishers are private companies and not based out of ngos or universities is beyond me.
The entire academic publishing system needs to collapse to make way for something better.
