I know I’m the worst, but I kinda loved those commercials. Quiznos is garbage food, but I appreciated them taking a risk on something so crazy and polarizing. I guess I just have a soft spot for anyone or anything that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

I loved the pepper bar myself.
Obviously the best part.
Quiznos used to be good. Now its garbage. God I miss old Quiznos.
Same. It was surreal seeing early internet humor played on TV, because the separation between internet and “real life” was still the norm.
Say what you will, anyone who saw that ad can hear this picture.
Quizno’s rats. I thought it was strange to introduce rats as an ad for a food joint. My friends loved those commercials. I think about how different people are from those ads sometimes.
Edit: I also don’t remember the accent: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZuPTZWhz46M
I mean, chuck e cheeze was a rat
It’s Charles Entertainment Cheese. You put some respect on that name. You capitalize it and spell it correctly. He runs casinos for children and you are not prepared for what he can do to you (no one asks Pasqually what he puts in that pizza, if you catch my drift; he’s from the “old country” and does not suffer fools). Last thing I want for you is to hear the distinct bark of Jasper Jowls in an empty parking garage right before the large purple shadow of Mr. Munch looms over you.
And they later changed him to a mouse.
Lmao, today you taught me.
It fit in with the low quality flash animations that were viral on the internet at the time. I guess it just seemed a bit out of place airing on tv?
They were sponge monkeys!
2004 was a weird time
Five Minutes Earlier…

I wanna see a senile Don Draper react to the creation of Zima.
I miss Quizno’s 🙁
Me too. I used to be a manager at one, we would invent our own recipies. Wanted to get a secret menu going but our ownership sold to someone new and corporate sent in a bunch of spooks and trainers who got real fucking pissy about us even making food for ourselves off menu.
That place knew that had gold but they tried to extract every last cent out of their franchisees which even resulted in an eventual lawsuit IIRC.
But god damn the food was so good.
I used to order the Cabo Chicken even after it stopped being on the menu.
Omg same. 10 years at Quiznos. RIP
RIP Honey mustard chicken with bacon and a fruitopia
Joel Veitch really cashed in on rathergood.com at the right time (assuming this isn’t just a rip-off of his style)
There was a milkshake advert he did in the same style in the UK
Did he do the hedgehog that sang about the axe wound?
Yes
Joel did indeed collaborate on this ad, its actually a reference to a prior animation that he had posted on rathergood.
I actually knew about rathergood and all the animations long before his foray into advertising, that was how I originally made the connection years ago!
I was in secondary school at the time and lunches during winter were basically spent watching the golden era of flash animation in the computer labs
Don Draper ruins his career on an ad you’re still talking about over 25 years later

Those little guys were the BEST!
They got a pepper bar!
Came to the comments looking for this. I knew I would not be disappointed.
During this time of my life, every response was a movie or commercial quote. I somehow had almost every conversation this way. Now it’s just meme responses. I’ve grown.
The majority of information I have on the TV Mad Men is the pitch John Oliver gave about the need for an episode where Don sells Opiates in small bottles at Gas Stations. (ZaZa, Kratom, 7-OH, etc).
Nah, let him end on a high note: the absolute masterpiece that is the Berries and Cream Starburst commercial.
That, or the other masterpiece from the era: the Delux_247 Coke ad.
My wife and I still sing this to each other in the grocery store.
We really like da moooon
sandwiches, quick and fast. your not selling just a sandwich. your selling speed your selling convince. when your hungry its there. just like rats.
ceo: rats huh? ur onto something
I thought the original videos on that site were so annoying, seeing the commercial made me swear off quiznos for life
You could do that now if you just spent a little money on the makeup budget.
