I know I’m the worst, but I kinda loved those commercials. Quiznos is garbage food, but I appreciated them taking a risk on something so crazy and polarizing. I guess I just have a soft spot for anyone or anything that doesn’t take itself too seriously.

It’s Charles Entertainment Cheese. You put some respect on that name. You capitalize it and spell it correctly. He runs casinos for children and you are not prepared for what he can do to you (no one asks Pasqually what he puts in that pizza, if you catch my drift; he’s from the “old country” and does not suffer fools). Last thing I want for you is to hear the distinct bark of Jasper Jowls in an empty parking garage right before the large purple shadow of Mr. Munch looms over you.

It fit in with the low quality flash animations that were viral on the internet at the time. I guess it just seemed a bit out of place airing on tv?

Me too. I used to be a manager at one, we would invent our own recipies. Wanted to get a secret menu going but our ownership sold to someone new and corporate sent in a bunch of spooks and trainers who got real fucking pissy about us even making food for ourselves off menu.

That place knew that had gold but they tried to extract every last cent out of their franchisees which even resulted in an eventual lawsuit IIRC.

But god damn the food was so good.

Joel Veitch really cashed in on rathergood.com at the right time (assuming this isn’t just a rip-off of his style)

There was a milkshake advert he did in the same style in the UK

I actually knew about rathergood and all the animations long before his foray into advertising, that was how I originally made the connection years ago!

I was in secondary school at the time and lunches during winter were basically spent watching the golden era of flash animation in the computer labs

Don Draper ruins his career on an ad you’re still talking about over 25 years later

During this time of my life, every response was a movie or commercial quote. I somehow had almost every conversation this way. Now it’s just meme responses. I’ve grown.

Nah, let him end on a high note: the absolute masterpiece that is the Berries and Cream Starburst commercial.

That, or the other masterpiece from the era: the Delux_247 Coke ad.

The majority of information I have on the TV Mad Men is the pitch John Oliver gave about the need for an episode where Don sells Opiates in small bottles at Gas Stations. (ZaZa, Kratom, 7-OH, etc).

I thought the original videos on that site were so annoying, seeing the commercial made me swear off quiznos for life
