My guess- non American-born citizens and people who live in “blue” cities are more likely to have passports and are more likely to use them as their main form of identification?
Definitely could be the case. I know a lot of people who have put off getting a “REAL ID” because they have a passport which works all the same.
I’m not sure if you can use the temp from the DMV at the polls before the actual card comes in the mail, however getting the “REAL ID” in the first place costs extra money which many can’t spare right now plus it requires documentation that not everyone has accessible and is a bitch to replace.
