I don’t wanna go that far (though I haven’t seen it) but let’s face facts, the original trilogy hasn’t aged well. I loved them in '77, '80, and '83 and for about 10-20 years after that, and for the longest time, I swore that Star Wars was the best movie ever made. It’s a solid 9/10 (and I still like it better than Empire, but by less of a margin now) but it’s not the best movie I’ve seen. (I’m not gonna go there today. Maybe someday. That deserves its own post.)

Still, thinking Andor may be better than the OT hurts my brain. I’m ready for it, though. Or at least I will be after The Expanse. And then something that isn’t sci-fi as a palette cleanser.

Just imagine the original trilogies without Harrison Ford as Han Solo. They’re solid but not great performance and plot. With Harrison Ford, we agree they’re top tier. But Andor kicks ass on all fronts.

I like that analogy. I was a Luke Skywalker fan as a kid, but I can agree as an adult his acting was a bit over the top. Later in life, I liked Alec Guinness as Obi-Wan. Chill old dude who just wanted to be left alone. He really does have a small role in the original, but it’s so important to that film, he seems bigger.
