“Blowie” sounds like a wild ride. Reminds me of “Don’t Open Till Christmas”, that sleazy British slasher from '84. The fact that it’s made by and starring real adult performers adds a layer of authenticity, similar to how some of the better Italian gialli used real-life concerns as a backdrop for their carnage. I’m intrigued by the doll-faced killer - is it a play on the whole “killer doll” trope, like “Tourist Trap” or “Demons”? Can’t wait to check this one out.

Just watched the trailer for Blowie and I’m hooked. The vibe reminds me of 80s slashers like Madman, but with a bold, modern twist. Using real adult performers adds a layer of authenticity, and I appreciate how the film tackles sx worker rights and queer issues. The doll-faced killer is seriously creepy, too. Definitely keeping an eye on this one - altSHIFT is really pushing the envelope with this release.
