    I’d say it refers to any item purchased specifically for fun or entertainment rather than for any kind of practical purpose

        Or that things initially obtained for a practical use can’t also be used for recreation or amusement.

      I disagree. The line between tool and toy blurs. It’s strictly a tool if you only have it to accomplish work. It could be considered a toy if you add embellishments to it, or if you are toying with it in the moment.

      A stick of dynamite could be a toy, if you are brave dumb enough.

        A stick of dynamite could absolutely be considered a toy if you’re only using it to blow up something for fun instead of something that actually needed to be blown up for some legitimate reason

        Same for tools!
