Once there was someone on the drugs subreddit asking if anyone else takes estrogen as a recreational drug because it makes you feel so good. Don’t worry, she eventually figured it out.

    Edit: found it

Most trans folk struggle to even get baseline medical care, and then this mf just casually uses E for recreation…

Don’t get me wrong, I’m happy for her to have figured things out, but how tf does one start taking estrogen recreationally? It’s not like you can just grab a month’s supply from a dealer.

The thing is, there is recreational demand for illicit drugs.

Estrogen on the other hand has no recreational use, which is why it’s unlikely for any dealer to even know how to source it.

I get that, my main struggle is understanding how one would consider going through all this research for recreational use…

      • At least where I’m at, its pretty easy to get a prescription. I just scheduled a virtual appointment for the next morning and then had a prescription sent to my pharmacy. Probably paid like $0-30 between the appointment and prescription? I was still questioning if I wanted HRT at the time; it was only after trying it that I knew it was something I wanted. Informed consent is great.
