    Strong leaders can help good teams become stronger but it is not one or the other. You cannot carry something as complicated as game production on 1 or 2 backs; conversely you could have the worlds best artists, writers, and programmers but if they arent communicating well they’re never gonna reach their full potential.

    I ain’t gonna lie I’m in the camp of just because something worked doesn’t mean it’s the defacto way of doing things.

    What Capcom did worked for them and it may not work for other dev shops.

    I’m inclined to believe there are key unnamed people making huge impacts in Capcom and not really getting recognized for it.

    From my experience working in corp it’s likely going to be one of those things where people will look back 10 years ago and wonder what made it work and realize it was some key people or key teams just making it happen.
