I used to think this way… Then I realized that I don’t feel the same way about someone having a benign growth removed, so why should I care so much about people having abortions?
At some point, it crosses from “potential human being” to “actual human being”, and I wish we never had to make that call.
But we do, and it’s okay that we do. We are adults, most of us at least, we are able to consider that sometimes a sub-ideal choice is still the correct one to make.
The real solution to abortions is sexual education, contraception, and overall societal change.
I think people should be able to get abortions whenever the want to ; but I also think we should create a world where people (almost) never actually want to, because (almost) every pregnancy was desired by the person getting pregnant.
