How do they know my country? Exactly.
IP address, you’re in the UK or some weird state in the USA. Whatever it is, your friends will be in the same country and will have the same problems.

In fairness, it’s impossible not to collect your IP address. It is intrinsically known when you visit a site.
Don’t use a MySpace/Facebook clone for a blog.
