dont even really know what asking out means… im guessing its asking for a date but a date feels like - just a weird extension of what a friendly meetup is with some extra qualifier making it a fancy thing.

Basically it’s a date when the people doing the activity are pursuing each other romantically. So it’s basically a date if you both (or more, sometimes) agree it is.
