I may have to contest you there. I wear mesh shirts as part of my normal wardrobe, I have a first wave industrial style noise/experimental project, I have made a German expressionist short film, I could literally call Ogre from Skinny Puppy on my phone rn if I wanted. I have a first pressing of Pornography by The Cure. I bring experience and first wave credibility to the office. I subculture subclass in goth, I primary class in crust, but I have been called ‘incredibly fucking goth’ by 3 different goths. I should at least get a cabinet position.

Check out the band Musta Paraati, amazing Finnish band from the esrly to mid 80s. Lost Tribe and Anansazi also rip, theyre from the early 2010s when diy punk went through a goth phase. Also my friends band H.A.L.T. who are current and tour quite a lot

That post is genuinely correct. I am a huge fan of the early 90s screamo scene and it was waaaaay more connected to the crust/anarcho punk scene than the victory records stuff or pop punk. Listen to Heroin, Ottawa and Nema, or get this! Moss Icon! Your username is like…a foundational inspiration for the genre. They sound entirely different from Fugazi and Nations of Ulysses who sounds totally different from Appleseed Cast or American Football who kinda sound a bit like Sunny Day Real Estate but only a little bit and none of these sound like Fallout Boy who doesnt sound like My Chemical Romance. When one term summarizes almost 50 years of 3 -5 very distinct types of music it makes the term useless. I think that emo as definition of anything being useful was long gone well before the copy pasta. My best friend who’s a bit older saw this happen over his life in real time, there are massive differences in the music and the crowd thst listens to all of these different types of ‘emo’ and blending it all together genuinely doesnt make sense. It was a buzzword that came up in the 2000s and stuck around. I know a lot about underground music.

Moss Icon are amazing, legit one of my favorite bands
