I don’t fucking care if a TME person finds the term cool or affirming, it’s not ok to take a slur that is used to fetishize my loved ones and me while denying and erasing our identities and turn that into a lifestylist microlabel. It’s not exactly like white people thinking they get an n word pass if they’re really into hip hop, each form of bigottry has its unique history and implications, but i can’t help but think of that kind of crowd when i see people appropriate that slur to describe their gender expression.
