!Risa@lemmy.dbzer0.com is a great community for Star Trek memes
And you don’t have to worry about AdmiralPatrick and his alts at StarTrek.website banning you for not agreeing with their views
As someone with media literacy, and an advocate of human rights, I love star trek.
I can’t understand why anyone would want to secretly silence the voices of others for every one that used their frontend unless they think those voices should be erased.
Anyone that is anti-woke, anti-trans, anti-human rights, or against freedom is a terrible person in my book and doesn’t belong in a star trek comunity.
Thank you for the recommendation.
Okay, yeah now it’s all coming together…
I recall a user Stamets had a big beef with ST.W-Risa mods 3 years ago for a debacle that was similar in nature. Moved to tenforward on .world but now I guess Stamets created this new risa as well.
Anyway, there were supposedly “no real rules”, but somehow posts were being removed with rules being cited like “not a meme/shitpost”. Unfortunately since some posts were deleted, I can’t recover every detail, but part of it was the same issue of undocumented rules then not taking it well when called out on it.
You can have a welcoming community without needing to be prescriptive with rules, beehaw does it well, they are far from a “free speech” place but they have their principles documented on why they do this. They will warn you if you are just crossing the line into “jerk” territory, before removing your comment or banning you. They enforce it very strictly and the excessive moderation burden has caused them to defederate from lemmy.world.
Wait, startrek.website was run by the Tesseract dev?
