I’m in the iOS 27 beta, and the keyboard still sucks. But now it’s at war with itself, and it’s amusing to see. If you type “you’re”, it’ll autocorrect to “your” after you type a few more words. Then a couple of sentences later, it gets underlined in blue, and if you tap it, it’ll offer to put it back.

I’m just wondering why it makes the change in the first place.

Oh, and keyboard suggestions are replaced with AI slop tools, and the only way to get rid of them is to disable Siri entirely. However, CarPlay now requires Siri to even start.

Yes, I’m reporting this every beta and I hope others are as well.

    Yeah, it’s weird that it’s a requirement in the first place. They could just disable the ability to open the microphone and you could still use it for everything else.

    I realized it was a requirement a few years ago as my partner has always had Siri disabled and is unable to play music in my car because of it.

      It is on the surface logical but I never use Siri, just the interface. Because Siri tends to suck. Strictly speaking message dictation isn’t Siri.
