Former Biden White House COVID-19 Response Coordinator, Dr. Ashish Jha, tells Dana Bash, “When I went into the White House, my view was this was almost surely a natural outbreak, maybe a lab leak. Based on information I learned and based on information I’ve seen, I have come to conclude that it is more likely to have been a lab leak.”

My view on COVID origins isn’t new — I’ve held it since my time at the White House
Here’s the truth: no one in America knows for sure. Anyone telling you they do is selling you something
Based on strong circumstantial evidence I’ve seen, I think lab leak is much more likely. Not engineered. Not deliberate. Accidental
Reasonable people can look at the same evidence and disagree
What “evidence” are they talking about? Because no one in the scientific community has seen it.
I keep hearing about evidence and never seeing any. The simplest answer is lab leak so I still think it’s likely, but there would be evidence.
This really should be a no-brainer. Anyone claiming they’ve seen “the evidence”, but doesn’t show it to you…is lying. That’s it.
is this the first maga conspiracy that turns out to be true? lol
I think the MAGA version includes variations of deliberate leak of the virus for political purposes. This guy is saying something that really shouldn’t be that controversial—it may have escaped a lab doing gain of function by accident, through negligence. Which from the get go has always been a reasonable possibility, and has happened in other contexts before (Reston, VA Ebola monkeys for one—the animals didn’t get out, but died of Ebola when they weren’t supposed to be sick, in a private facility in an office park and there were concerns about aerosol spread at the time, luckily the strain wasn’t a threat to humans as they found out).
