And yeah, in retrospect the pilot should have… but this was a medevac flight, and so the pilot is in the position of potentially sacrificing the life of the patient they were flying out to pick up.
There’s an obvious counter-factual: what if the military didn’t jam GPS that night. Hell, it’s not like the government didn’t know their flight plan, how about just turning off the jammers for a couple of hours??
