A quien en su sano juicio se le ocurre guardar proyectos privados en google…
Who says he is sane or has any judgement abilities? 🤣
After Google’s LLM revealed undisclosed character details to a curious superfan – who then shared them over Discord – the developer began to suspect Gemini had been scraping Google Docs to train its AI. games developer klub kofta has accused gemini of scraping their privat google docs.
Using the handle of their solo Canadian indie game development studio, Klub Kofta, the developer took to Reddit to share details about how the player was able to obtain “surprisingly obscure information” about Kofta’s Ocean-themed tower defense game.
According to the player, the AI then came up with the correct name for a new character, “Vantage Tripod,” which had not been previously disclosed.
I feel like this story might just be to get media for their game. It’s pretty much a story about something that happened on Reddit - which pretends Reddit is a 100% honest, and totally not manufactured place. People lie all the time on Reddit. But also, how many clues would a fan following the games development have? Were there other guesses… Feels like there are lots of plot holes here.
After searching their Discord server history, Kofta said there were no previous mentions of the name.
Dev isn’t even certain they didn’t mention it somewhere. For all I know they live stream development progress. It’s such a nothing burg.
…also the article its self was “aided by nexos.ai”.
Probably true, but anyone trusting an ai company to not scrape user data is ridiculously delusional, regardless of how the company portray themselves.
the developer began to suspect Gemini had been scraping Google Docs to train its AI.
It amazes me that anyone would trust any Capitalist entity/Corp. It doesn’t even matter if this one was more of a marketing stunt. I mean ffs, there’s no honor among thieves, and everything from any of these lying/scheming entities are purely selfish and will harm you, and other people…
To be fair, you need a very high IQ to realize even the meme I am using here was started by a fake story on Reddit.
This isn’t the first news site I’ve seen posted on Lemmy that basically turns a Twitter post or Reddit thread into a whole article. And the AI-generatef summary and AI-generated images don’t inspire much confidence either.
