We watched the Top Gun parody Hot Shots! I hadn’t seen it since I was like 9, and it was just as goofy and silly as I remembered. It’s from the makers of Airplane and The Naked Gun, so it’s just nonstop gags and throwaway bits that are all mostly pretty funny

    • i fuckin’ LOVED that show. i can’t wait for more. Hiro Murai has the midas touch imo.

my favorite episode was the one with the cocktail hour party. so insane, deep, and simultaneously hilarious. i laughed like i was losing my mind when the spell broke and she could actually see the book. fucking genius.

Stuart Fails to Save the Universe, the first few episodes have been acceptable slop for something that is a sorta kinda spin-off from Big Bang Theory.

Its like that old show from the 90’s, Sliders. But not serious.

I’ve been watching a lot of InfoWars recently.

The Onion’s takeover of the IP has been pretty good so far and Tim Heidecker has been an excellent creative director for the project. It hasn’t made me laugh myself to tears or anything but it is pretty funny and kind of cozy.

The few clips I’ve seen so far have been pretty good.

The SEAL team guy talking about killing Osama bin Laden was good for a deeply dark handful of chuckles.

Richard Pryor: Live & Smokin’ from 1971

Funny and fairly short at under an hour.

    Videodrome 1983

First time seeing it, I prefer Cronenberg’s other 80s films, Scanners and the Fly especially. Some of the effects are cool but I found it disappointing overall. Honestly it is relatively tame compared to some of the stuff I read.

Watched “Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die”. Solidly fun movie, good effects, whacky characters.

Oh. Personally I finally got around to watching Conclave. It was pretty good, if very lib. I liked that they actually made priests look what people think priests look like rather than going with more authentic dress that would make them look ridiculous, but I can see some people being upset about that.
Making the traditionalist Italian guy called “German” who is a nazi the only guy who vapes instead of smokes is clearly supposed to mean something, but I don’t know what it is. Either way they dripped him out so hard he made vaping look cool.

It’s fully a political drama with no need to pretend it’s more than it is, there’s no need for action scenes and the movie doesn’t cheapen what’s going on by trying to make it anything but a bunch of people arguing in rooms.
