The premise of this is kind of silly. Streaming services don’t require that you listen to their mixes. You absolutely can just listen to whole albums or make your own lists. You absolutely can independently search up specific new artists to explore.

Personally, I’ve found a huge amount of music I probably wouldn’t be aware of otherwise because it’ll start playing similar things when an album finishes. You don’t have to just passively let it run through them either. Often I’ll hear a song a couple of times and seek out the artist’s entire discography.

I don’t understand this article either. Bruce Springstein’s lyrics are some kind of terrible. Who would dig through their parents personal effects hoping to find a Bruce Springstein CD? The best sound it will ever make is when it lands on the metallica discs that were previously thrown in the dumpster.

You have a choice. Care about good music. Care about yourself. And of others. And of your collective futures. Don’t encourage Bruce Springstein to whine overtop of music any more. And for the love of god, never go spelunking through someone else’s stash for Bruce Springstein.

Oh, and it’s been my finding that you can generally skip around and play streams basically whatever way you want if you just learn the controls and commit to staying focused to start and stop times. Usually. All the ones I ever used anyways. Dunno.
