Yeah, I’m still holding out hope for a “convergent” device I can dock and use as a PC. I’ve used Samsung’s DeX a bit, and it’s okay but I really want a Linux phone with something like a high end flagship Snapdragon SOC that gives me a normal Plasma desktop when docked. Samsung was doing Linux on DeX for like, a month or so, then discontinued it.
That’s interesting, the specs for that phone say it has USB 2.0. I wonder how it works and if any USB dock would work or if this is some kind of bespoke solution.
It does suck for you guys that there are few options, but I like a huge phone personally. I remember back when I got a Galaxy Note 3 it was a revelation, but now it has become the default.
I feel like I’m getting gaslit with the “this is a compact phone guys” knowing full well that is a normal sized current gen (or last gen) phone that most phone manufacturers are selling.
That’s understandable. I’ve long been a critic of how non-customizeable phones are. I actually prefer big phones, as my eyes are bad, but different people have different needs, and it should be trivial to adjust phones accordingly.
True but there aren’t that many compact phones. And the phones that are being advertised as compact used to be the normal size. I’m genuinely considering getting a Zinwa Q25 or Q27, which is a gutted blackberry.
Edit: q25 is a gutted bb classic. Q27 is a custom designed phone.

The FLX1s has this feature:

I have one, but I’ve only tried with the official dock. I’ll try to remember to test it out later this week to see if it works with a rando-dock.
I appreciate that! My guess it that it will not work, but I’d love to be wrong.
I’m not sure if I’m going full Luddite but phones are getting way too damn big.
6.7" is insane. My own phone is a 6 in 18:9 screen and it’s too big. (I did not get a choice in my phone purchase at the time).
