Snopes isn’t paywalled, and neither is the newspaper archive they link to.
Looks like your adblocker sucks. I’ve uBO on Firefox (Android) and I just see the page normally without ads.
Anyway it just gives some nice background and shows that the text was copied from a Popular Mechanics article:

Perhaps you haven’t enabled the same filters or are behind on updates?
