Article says her foundation gives every child in US every month a book until 5? That true? Probably you have to sign up for it ?

I remember we were asked which book we want by such a charity at like 7 yr old. A whole schoolyear passed until the book arrived. Was a bit of a bummer.

We signed up, they ask for donations but don’t require it. I don’t think we have gotten one for a minute, but you are supposed to get 1 book a month and most of them are based off of the kids age, the first one is always the same, I believe it was Dollys favorite book as a kid.

They require a local partner to distribute the books, all other admin overhead they cover

When we signed up in the hospital we were never asked for a donation, and we’ve received a book every month so far. It must be up to the local partner, I’m sorry your experience hasn’t been as stellar as ours :(

Looks like donate on main page has option for local partner but mine doesn’t accept donations… Guess I’ll just regularly donate

I wish the hospital did that, I found out through the internet haha, my kiddo enjoys them and the fact they come through the mail but I’m not saddened by it, we have gotten a couple years and it is free after all.

I am going to look at donating to mine maybe they are struggling?

Its awesome! The hospital includes the signup in the paperwork packet at the hospital. They actually collected that, it was easier to enroll in than it was to get a social security card.

First book is Little Engine that could, our daughter got it at 1 month old.
