The lib argument is literally that the child crushing is going to happen either way, so might as well choose the polite one. It’s a philosophy of utter defeatism for a working class person to have.

You probably wouldn’t feel the same way if it mentioned transphobia or maybe some other form of hate speech or discrimination so please, keep your insults to yourself. Also, how do you even downvote a post?

What I’m saying is that this meme juxtaposes two issues that are on the same side of a coin and unnecessarily alienates people harmed by hate speech and discrimination. I get the point of the meme and I’m not attributing malice to anyone but there’s way better ways of getting the point across than this.

Before I say anything, I am genuinely trying to understand you and not argue.

I’m confused at how you landed at the conclusion that you did about this meme. Can you explain your thought process to how you landed at your conclusion? I’m having a hard time connecting the dots and it’s confusing me.

Well, first of all, the meme conflates ‘rude’ with racist (which is weird) so it kind of suggests ‘rude’ is just a stand in for hate speech, so it attributes caring about hate speech and racism to liberalism.

The point of the meme is that liberals care more about hate speech (words as it’s being implied) and racism than killing children. I mean ok, but is it really necessary? On an overwhelmingly white site? It makes me feel extremely uncomfortable, especially when reactionary rhetoric would probably fall along the same lines. And the overlap between people who care about both things is much more significant than this would suggest

Maybe I’m just hysterical or not being charitable. I’m fine being labelled a liberal. Not sure I want to continue the conversation in this thread.

Alright, I see what you’re saying. Thank you for your explanation.

Your interpretation is definitely valid, but definitely not the most forward interpretation likely meant by its creator. I’m not saying you’re incorrect; It’s just the less traveled road. I think the most simple interpretation is just the difference between democrats and republicans really is just the tone of the horrors wrought upon the world. Brash vs respectful. This is probably where disconnects are being made.

Though you are correct. Maybe abstracting out the subject matter a little would’ve been a good idea.

HE wants to feed foreign children AND immigrants AND queer people into the meat grinder. I want to feed foreign children and immigrants into the meat grinder and promise concessions to queer people I won’t deliver on. Do you REALLY want HIM to win? /s

It’s no wonder many Americans assume everyone in the world is against them. By this logic Trump is the lesser evil for me, as a non-American, if a better America is impossible, okay then just make it stop quicker. Lesser evil.

Depends on if it changes the rate of killing. There’s probably a chart.

Ironically, in Gaza, Trump actually reduced the rate of killing.

Lebanese and Iranians probably don’t find that comforting.

It almost certainly isn’t ‘most’, at least.

Recent estimates place roughly two million people in the Gaza strip. Gaza health ministry claim ~80,000 direct deaths - some studies suggest more like 100,000. Indirect deaths could be a few fold that. Roughly 100,000 have fled. Obviously, nobody is able to get any accurate population numbers today in there. That top end of that back-of-the-envelope guess would still estimate the death of 25% of Gazans, sickeningly.
