I might be totally off base or this discourse has been discoursed already. I can’t help but notice the sheer and almost coordinated effort on social media to highlight things like male loneliness epidemic, general gender war bullshit, mAn Vs wOMaN lately.
These posts, along with the general upwards trend of minority hate, feel like they serve to ignite a sort of male chauvinism in the USA. I can’t help but feel like the whole endgame here is to groom men into the sort of ideology that would justify fighting in a future war (or hell, even just Iran).
Sorry if my writing is sloppy I did not take the time to draft this post and think about it holistically before posting…

An absolute ton of it is projecting and lashing out from fear and trauma.
The weakest men, the most fearful and self-doubting, tend to dive into it the hardest. For the men in the ‘gender war’ the mantra says, “Actually, you’re strong if you act a certain way and believe certain things about the other gender no matter how you feel inside. If you feel doubtful or fearful, act that way harder. Believe those things stronger. That will make you more of a man and more legitimate as a person.” In a time where everyone is feeling less and less powerful and more alienated from the fruits of their labor and a hopeful future, this becomes an “opiate of the masses.” Of course, all this is toxic and fuels this social conflict from the male side.
For women it’s a little different. I see a lot of pain there that is entirely legit. Then, I see some women misdirecting that pain. I think due to this there is a lot of misandry out there masquerading as feminism. Hating men isn’t feminism and it fuels the ‘gender war’ stuff from the feminine side by deliberately trying to be inflammatory because the woman saying the inflammatory thing was hurt and she wants you to know that and feel some of that hurt, too. Of course, attacking weak men like I mentioned only feeds into their mantra, so they double back and go harder. The cycle continues.
Yes exactly, the Lindsay Clancy stuff is really highlighting this for me. I can’t help myself but see people discuss this online and it is utterly infuriating and pointless to read through every time. People care way too much about this stupid case and I just cannot genuinely believe that there isn’t some kind of coordinated effort by someone to keep adding fuel to that fire. It’s like the entire Americasphere has utterly no clue what psychosis is, and some of the ones that do, want to speedrun the trial to life imprisonment because their poor feelings are bruised (for some reason?) and just can’t fathom the concept of… a trial?
Splash in an unhealthy level of viewing trials like some kind of fun puzzle that we all need to be a part of so we can “crack the case” together and sprinkle in some agents of chaos who want to be contrarian and stir the pot. Then of course it’s all mixed into the usual dysfunction of the American mindset. It really is a perfect spectacle.
