I might be totally off base or this discourse has been discoursed already. I can’t help but notice the sheer and almost coordinated effort on social media to highlight things like male loneliness epidemic, general gender war bullshit, mAn Vs wOMaN lately.

These posts, along with the general upwards trend of minority hate, feel like they serve to ignite a sort of male chauvinism in the USA. I can’t help but feel like the whole endgame here is to groom men into the sort of ideology that would justify fighting in a future war (or hell, even just Iran).

Sorry if my writing is sloppy I did not take the time to draft this post and think about it holistically before posting…

Imo there’s nobody at the wheel and this is just the organic development of alienation under capitalism. The media focus on the “gender war” is just a scapegoat so that people don’t point out that the capitalists are chiefly responsible.

I doubt there’s any conscious thought going into that either, I think they’ve long internalized what’s not up for discussion to the point that they barely ever think about that stuff and would never consider a distraction necessary. Regardless of who benefits here no one’s in the shadows pushing gender war stuff for ideological reasons, it’s literally the free market saying this is spicy and might increase our ratings today. If media bosses were convinced the general public suddenly got really into some shit like beanie babies again then gender war coverage would be dropped for beanie babies on the spot with zero hesitation.
