    Food preservation is a lot of work, better to spread it on many shoulders. Usually what happens is that the neighbours return some glasses of jam etc. as a thank you.

      I’ve seen how my neighbors park their cars and look after their kids. I would not trust them to make anything that requires precision and attention.

      Botulism is no joke.

        Are you for real?

        I can assure you that botulism in self-made jams is an absolute freak event that is less likely than being struck by a meterorite 🙄

        And you can easily see when a jam has turned bad otherwise and just discard it 🤷

          Maybe not jams in particular, but canning in general is not something I would trust my neighbors to do.
