Hasan was pretty good for a year but since his DSA stint it’s really gone downhill. Especially the Platner saga. Way too much compromising with the DNC. He’s close to power now and starting to water down all the rhetoric.

Agree, the Platner stuff was very disgusting to be honest. And it wasn’t just him.

Also I’ve been following long enough to know that during election season he really waters himself down, basically to the point of “vote blue no matter who” without saying it and then works backwards from there. Whether it works to bring liberal voters into the fold and slowly subtly introduce them to Marxism and even softening their conditioning on communism itself, idk…

Does it really work, like on a large scale? Again, I have no idea. It’s a little embarrassing to admit that it worked for me, kinda. I thought I was as left as you can be, a mix of “anarchist” (went to punk and metal shows growing up) and liberal (voted for democrats), and Hasan did somehow convince me to take socialism and communism seriously and led me to the Deprogram and Hakim who led me to Marxist and non-Marxist authors and that’s what really kicked it off. So I have a soft spot for the guy, I think understandably.

His 2024 election was pretty strong actually. He refused to endorse Kamala because she refused to pass the grand-canyon low bar of not supporting genocide (and Piker was yelled at pretty hard for it).

He got a lot of clout and goodwill for that online. But for some mythical reason he suddenly decided to go compromise mode with the DSA and now we’ve got him supporting people who all endorse Hakeem Jeffries and the rest of the DNC genocide squad as if that will ever change anything. All under the guise of “compromising with the right to gain power”.
