Louis CK, the only man in the world funny enough to un-cancel himself
Lol true. Though it helps when half of your routine is to joke about how shitty of a person you think you are, and then it turns out that’s true, and people are like “yeah that checks out”
Norm MacDonald
The moth joke, dirty johnny, country of germany, 9/11 compilation, ManGrate, guest appearance with courtney thorne-smith on conan.
RIP.
I didn’t even know he was sick.
He kept it a secret up until his final days

Bill Burr
Bill burr all the way!
I don’t even have to watch his full specials. I just watch him in Conans show , and it lights me up!
This fockin guy
Taylor Tomlinson
She is consistently very good, and has excellent stage presence.
Taylor’s recent “Look at you” show was hilarious. The story behind that title is amazing too!
Sorry progressive and always know when I watch her stuff that I’m in for a good time.
I’ll give you two, one living, one passed.
Randy Feltface is great with crowd work.
Mitch Hedberg was a genius with delivery, and even though I’ve seen most of his recorded work multiple times, I still laugh out loud.
I have a chance to see Randy Feltface live in December but may have to go by myself since my one standup buddy said he “can’t do puppets” lol. I mean I get the puppet hate but this isn’t like Jeff Dunham, Randy is actually legitimately funny to the point that you kinda forget you’re looking at a puppet.
also agreed on Mitch, RIP.
Craig Ferguson is probably my number one though. His specials aren’t even that great but the three times I’ve seen him live have been hysterical, and his Late Late Show was legendary imo, such a quick witted mind for improv.
Loved Ferguson. His books are worth a read, too.
- George Carlin
- Billy Connolly
- Carl Barron
Scrolled too far without seeing Weird Al listed. He may not do stand-up but he’s absolutely a comedian, and he’s been making me laugh consistently for 30 years now.
James Acaster is the correct answer in here - he is hilariously funny and very progressive
“Can you tell us about your flapjack?”
"Started making it. Had a breakdown.
…Bon appetit."
George Carlin
George, Pryor and Hedberg still take up a lot of room in my playlists.
- James Acaster
- Mitch Hedberg
- Stephen Wright
Love Mitch and Stephen - had never heard of James Acaster but took a chance based on your list and loved him :D thanks for the rec!
Patton Oswalt. I love that nerdy little hobbit man when he really gets on a rant.
Mike Birbiglia
Bill Hicks
Nate Bargatze
Seeing him again on Saturday. Can’t wait!
His childhood primed him for comedy.
Demetri Martin! One liners galore and fun visual “musical” comedy.
