China said the United States is the “biggest disruptor of regional peace and stability” in the world in a scathing response Wednesday to a Pentagon report on China’s growing military buildup.
The annual report that is required by Congress is one way the Pentagon measures the military capabilities of China, which the U.S. government sees as its key threat in the Asia-Pacific region and America’s primary long-term security challenge.
The statement China’s Ministry of Defense issued in response called the Pentagon report’s findings false and used it in turn to hit back at the U.S.’ recent actions in helping Israel and Ukraine, as well as its buildup of military installations worldwide.
The only real borders in dispute are the China-India one in the Himalayas (of which nobody lives), the China-Vietnam one in the Paracels (of which nobody lives), the China-Phillipines ones in the South China Sea (of which nobody lives), the general clusterfuck in the Spratly Islands (of which nobody lives), the China-Japan one in the Diaoyu Islands (of which nobody lives), and Taiwan (which by doctrine the CPC is required to posture on but never act on because it’s a state of civil war). Most of these claims are a product of neither China having been invited to the Treaty of San Francisco discussions on Japanese war reparations, despite, y’know, millions of Chinese dead from the Japanese invasion and occupation and countless war crimes committed by the Japanese. The Western countries decided to fuck over China in the Treaty of San Francisco in order to exploit the massive industrialized economy that Japan had without putting Japan into a Weimar-like state.
The only real disputes? What? Take a look at who China allies with. They’re also in disputes with neighbours or in internal disputes. China’s never going to be a force for good in this world. Never have been, and never will!
