Critics of Israel’s merciless war on Gaza are facing threats of government prosecution and blacklists or firings. In this neo-McCarthyist environment, anything pro-Palestine is being made to carry the whiff of bigotry or even incitement to violence.

The companies that want to distance themselves from this, are perfectly entitled to.

Major donors are pulling money from public institutions over their beliefs on this issue is again completely fair and understandable.

I’m not sure what State actions are being done to limit freedom of expression, those should be struck down though.

Those who openly support terrorism like we’re seeing on campuses across America should be shamed. I’m not sure it should go so far as to arrest them, but inciting violence should be watched for closely. Some places have hate speech laws, that are clearly being violated by these disgusting assholes.

Nah that’s perfectly consistent behavior for fascists. And the only one besides the fascists that are likely to flip. Are wealthy Democrats who in serving themselves also tend to serve the wealthy fascists. They’re highly adjacent and only make up a narrow part of the spectrum and all largely right wing.

I think it’s important to distinguish that there are pro Palestinian views. And pro hamas views. And they are not the same. Personally, as a leftist. I’m not concerned about hate groups like Hamas, Republicans etc not being tolerated. I’m not alone and we’re pretty consistent about it.

I tolerate those who are tolerant. That said if people crack down on pro Palestinian protesters. Misrepresenting them as pro Hamas. Any rational person should be pissed about that. And it won’t be flip-floping. We know it’s going to happen regardless. Criticism of the Israeli government is wrongly treated as antisemitism.

Not one mention of the reverse!
