minus-squareodium@programming.devlinkfedilinkarrow-up3·2 years agoI did some quick math and I found that it’s at least 120 inches.
minus-squareodium@programming.devlinkfedilinkarrow-up2·2 years agoHere’s my methodology. I took my tape measure and laid it flat on the ground in a straight line. My tape measure only goes till 120 inches and it didn’t go around the world. So I concluded that the Earth must be longer than that. Lmk if you spot any errors in my calculations.
minus-squaresaigot@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up2·2 years agoit’s 40000km If you do the math it works out that the drop is about 6nanometers per foot
minus-squareremotelove@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up2·2 years agoSo we are always walking downhill. Nice.
minus-squareHiddenLayer5@lemmy.mllinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up1·2 years ago Measured around the poles, the circumference is 40,007.863 km (24,859.734 mi)

That seems high.
Interesting if true
